Herpetologists Simon Keys and Siouxsie Gillett, alongside local snake wrangler Mbali Mtshali, continue their daring escapades capturing and releasing snakes from homes and buildings in and around the coastal metropolis.

Durban, once a lush jungle, now stands as a bustling city atop a snake-infested territory. As summer’s heat lures these reptiles into human domains, the trio of experts faces the challenge of ensuring harmony between the city’s 3.5 million inhabitants and its indigenous snake population. Simon, Siouxsie, and Mbali, available 24/7, respond to every call, be it a harmless house snake or a deadly black mamba.

This season introduces a thrilling twist as the team travels to the beautiful city of Mysore in India. Collaborating with local snake enthusiast M. S. Balasubramania, aka ‘Snake Shyam’, they confront new snake species, including the common krait, saw-scaled viper, Russel’s viper, Indian cobras, reticulated pythons, and the notorious King cobra.

Back in Durban, Mbali takes on new challenges, capturing her first spitting cobra and black mamba solo—a testament to her growing expertise as a snake catcher. ‘Snakes in the City’ continues to captivate audiences, offering a thrilling blend of adventure, education, and snake-saving heroics.
