Sandton is one of the most popular areas within South Africa, well known for its business-hub status, world-class hospitality and conferencing, as well as shopping galore. The name is a blend of two of its suburbs namely, Sandown and Bryanston, and is home to over 220’000 residents. As South Africa’s economy evolved, the financial focus of Johannesburg shifted from the Central Business District to Sandton earning it the title of being ‘Africa’s richest square mile’.

The Sandton Central commercial node has some of the best and most premium commercial properties in South Africa, with many law firms, banks, financial services companies and the JSE calling Sandton home. Sandton has also been the host of numerous major gatherings, including the Africa Investment Forum (AIF) championed by the African Development Bank, The World Summit on Sustainable Development, the Arnold Classic Africa, the Standard Bank Joy of Jazz, the ING Renault F1 Roadshow and many many more.

In 2010, The Sandton Times started as a single social media account, quickly growing into a prominent news network geared towards a new way of consuming content and media. With 20-years of mainstream media experience fuelling The Sandton Times, the brand has grown organically and is positioned for the next normal of news and information. With stories ranging from current affairs to leisure, pleasure and everything in-between, The Sandton Times has broken its fair share of general news stories too, based in the heart of Sandton, nestled in a secret undisclosed champagne cellar, accessible only via a secret passageway disguised as a bookcase, in a Sandton coffee shop.

As Sandton’s leading website, The Sandton Times aims to be the foremost aggregator of news in greater Sandton, showcasing the best that Sandton has to offer in terms of world-class entertainment, luxury lifestyle, food for foodies, lavish travel, celebrity interviews, trendy launches and top-notch events, as well as pertinent news from beyond the borders of ‘Africa’s richest square mile’.
