The corner of Rivonia and Witkoppen Road has become a hot spot for car hijacking, according to Sandton police who have recorded three incidents in the past month at this intersection.

• All of the hijackings took place during the day, between 9am and 1pm, on a Wednesday and Thursday.
• There is no specific trend with regards to model or type of car targeted.
• Sandton police continue efforts to trace and arrest car hijacking suspects.

The Rivonia and Witkoppen Road intersection is not the only location repeatedly targeted by criminals. Another spot that has been identified by Sandton police, for car hijacking, are the Woodmead and Buccleuch interchange. The reported incidents took place on a Tuesday and Wednesday, between 1pm and 9pm.

Sandton police urge members of the public to always be vigilant when stopping at these or any other intersections, be they traffic lights, interchanges or stops.
