COULD THIS BE THE BIGGEST SHAKE-UP IN 28-GOAL POLO

South Africa will take on Argentina on 15 May 2021 at the Inanda Club in Sandton for the Aon Inanda International Polo, a major polo fixture on the social sports calendar. As the teams did not face each other in the planned 2020 clash, the 2021 match is eagerly-awaited among polo fans.

  • South Africa defeated Argentina, 7-5, in a 90-minute action packed match at the 2019 Aon Inanda International.
  • The event will be held under the patronage of the Argentine Embassy in South Africa.
  • The polo will also be streamed live on the Inanda Club’s Official YouTube Channel.

Polo aficionados, both live as well as online, will see some of the world’s best players display their formidable skills on the field, while celebrating South African-Argentine culture, as the day will offer exhilarating polo action combined with history and traditional Latin music. The month of May also celebrates Revolution Day in the Argentine calendar, marking the anniversary of the first independent government in Buenos Aires.

Polo as an International sport has brought together many players from different countries, each with different dynamics to the game. The Coronel Suarez family relationship with South Africa and Argentine Polo dates back to the early 1950s, when a team first challenged South Africa.

This Aon Inanda International in association with Bravo Brands is a highlight on the sport and entertainment calendar and spectators can look forward to a match that promises to reignite the age-old rivalry between the best of South African and Argentine polo. The match at the Inanda Club, which is set against the spectacular backdrop of Johannesburg’s business hub, Sandton, will be played at intense high speed, requiring peak athletic conditioning from both horse and player.

We are extremely excited to announce this match, viewable both live as well as streamed on the official Inanda YouTube channel, under strict guidelines of COVID-19 regulations, which will showcase top quality polo out on the field.

// Aon Chief Executive Officer, Terence Williams
