Last night, a woman jumped to her death at Sandton City shopping centre. Centre management has sent their deepest condolences to the family of the deceased.

Sandton City confirmed on social media that on October 13, at approximately 8:26pm “an individual jumped to their death”. Emergency services responded to the scene immediately, but the individual was unfortunately pronounced dead. The incident looks to have taken place in the Protea Court at the popular shopping destination where the woman fell 8 floors.
Footage of the incident started circulating on social media and the mall has requested the removal of all content from social media platforms relating to the matter in respect of the deceased and their family.
An inquest docket at the Sandton Police Station has been opened confirmed Captain Bheki Xulu.
