A team made up of various law enforcement agencies and private security companies spotted and stopped a silver Volkswagen Polo with four suspects, passing through Sandton.
- Information about the four suspects was received earlier this week, following a tip-off.

A team comprising of Gauteng Provincial Serious and Violent Crimes Unit, Johannesburg East Crime Intelligence, Johannesburg K9 Unit, Fidelity Specialised Services, Tracker SA and Community Active Protection responded to information of suspects involved in armed robberies with aggravated circumstances.
The team acted swiftly and arrested four suspects in Sandton who were found with two unlicensed firearms and driving a car suspected to be stolen. Upon searching the suspects and vehicle, it was also discovered that the engine of the vehicle they were driving had been tempered with.
Gauteng Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Tommy Mthombeni applauded the team that is working with zeal to curb serious and violent crimes in the province.
I am pleased with the collaboration between the police and private security companies as the team continues to bring a halt and arrest criminals involved in serious and violent crimes. I would also like to thank the community that continues to give information to the police and expose criminals. Working together we can bring crime to its minimul.
