As Johnnie Walker marks its 200th year of walking, the quintessential liquid has opted to celebrate this milestone through an iconic collaboration with world renowned fashion brand and culture bender RICH MNISI, for a limited edition capsule collection set to launch this weekend.

The eponymous collaboration not only aims to commemorate Johnnie Walker’s 200th anniversary, but it also comes on the heels of Johnnie Walker’s new brand proposition, an extension of the brand’s ubiquitous “Keep Walking” manifesto, which aims to ‘inspire and encourage consumers to be fearless in their pursuit of tasting and experiencing the richness life has to offer by living a lot and pushing their boundaries’. RICH MNISI is joined by 4 other designers, including Kaylin Car, goodFriday and DIPSTREET, each with their own interpretation of the “Keep Walking” slogan and Striding Man.


The exclusive capsule collection will include iconic basic wardrobe pieces from archetypal bomber jackets, jumpsuits, t-shirts and an array of accessories consumers can add to their collections this Winter.

Winter of 2020 saw the release of the popular RICH MNISI Azania collection, which formed part of Johnnie Walker’s #KeepWarmSA influencer campaign, followed by last year’s release of ‘The Man Who Walked Around The World’ documentary (in celebration of the brand’s 200th birthday) which was anchored by the RICH MNISI’s bespoke sleepwear designs to commemorate the local launch of the docu-film.

My journey has seen me walk into spaces I never imagined I would set foot in; designing and create clothes for some of my idols, showcasing my work on global platforms and now I get to collaborate with Johnnie Walker once again to ring in 200 years of the brand’s iconic influence. I cannot wait for people to see what we have been cooking up for this limited edition capsule collection.

Consumers and brand enthusiasts can get their hands on the Johnnie Walker limited edition capsule collection, which according to our estimates consists of less than 2000 pieces across 5 different designers, from May 14 to May 16, 2021 at Nelson Mandela Square. Limited spots are available and those wanting to view and shop the collection will need to book online.
