As cricket fever grips greater Sandton with the highly anticipated SA20 Playoffs at Wanderers Stadium, Gautrain is stepping up to ensure that fans can enjoy the matches without worrying about transportation.
- With extended operating times and a dedicated bus service, getting to and from the stadium has never been easier.
- On Wednesday, 7 February and Thursday 8 February 2024, Gautrain will be extending its operating times to accommodate cricket fans traveling to the Wanderers Stadium.
- The extended train services will be available for the following stations: Rosebank, Sandton, Marlboro, Midrand, Centurion, and Hatfield.

In addition to the extended train services, Gautrain will also be providing a convenient bus service between Rosebank Station and Wanderers Stadium. The Rosebank Gautrain Bus route R3B will operate throughout the day, ensuring easy access to the stadium for spectators.
From 9pm onwards, a dedicated bus shuttle service will run between Rosebank Station and the stadium. The last bus departing from the stadium will be at 10:40pm, allowing fans to catch a ride back to the station after the match. Both the extended train operating times and the bus service will be available on both days of the SA20 Playoffs, providing flexibility and convenience for cricket enthusiasts attending the matches.
The last train departing from Rosebank station to Hatfield station will leave at 11pm. It’s important to note that the listed stations will close 15-minutes after the arrival of the last train.
The SA20 Playoffs at Wanderers Stadium promise to be action-packed events, with thrilling matches and exciting pre-match activities for fans of all ages. Gates will open at 2:30pm on both days, with matches starting at 5:30pm. Tickets for the Eliminator and Qualifier 2 matches are available on Ticketpro, starting from R100. Scholar and pensioner tickets are available at a 50% discount, making it the perfect opportunity for families to enjoy a day out at the cricket.
In addition to the matches, there will be a range of pre-match and post-match activities, including kids cricket activities, live performances by popular bands, and exciting entertainment such as fireworks and pyrotechnics.
