Eskort Fires Up South Africa’s Biggest Pop-Up Restaurant

Eskort has announced what it claims is the biggest pop-up restaurant the country has ever seen.

The bold move comes in celebration of its newly launched ribs, which the brand is proudly calling its “best ribs evererrr”.
Running every Thursday evening until 26 June 2025, Eskort has transformed each of its 30 stores nationwide into Rib Rack Shacks.
Doors open from 5pm to 7pm, and rib lovers from all over are expected to pull in for a messy but mouth-watering dinner.

Each Rib Rack Shack offers the same saucy setup – casual seating, finger-lickin’ ribs, and a party vibe. Wherever possible, local DJs will be spinning tracks to keep the energy high while the sauce flows freely. It’s not fine dining but it’s fun dining.

Designed for serious appetites and those who don’t mind a little sauce on their shirt, the portions are as generous as the names are cheeky.

We’re expecting people to come hungry and leave saucy. They’ll be among the first to taste our best ribs ever, which come in three varieties – BBQ Spare Rib Racks, BBQ Loin Rib Racks, and BBQ Cocktail Ribs.

Eskort’s new rib range has been completely reimagined, with meatier cuts, a stickier and slightly sweeter marinade, and that all-important fall-off-the-bone tenderness.

It’s a bold claim, but Eskort’s recent momentum supports it. The brand, which operates stores in every province except the Free State, has expanded beyond its supermarket staple image. Today, its standalone stores offer over 300 South African pork products produced at Eskort’s facilities in Estcourt (KwaZulu-Natal) and Heidelberg (Gauteng).

And if you can’t make it to the pop-up, don’t fret – the new ribs are also hitting supermarkets and Eskort stores nationwide.
