Africa’s highest urban bar, Alto234, will be kicking off the warmer season by throwing itself an epic, not-to-be-missed first anniversary party, marking a year since the destination situated on the 57th floor of The Leonardo, opened its doors. Situated at over 1’734 meters above sea level, Alto234 can safely claim the title of Africa’s highest urban bar, boasting 360-degree views of Sandton and greater Johannesburg.

Apart from the main attraction – a spectacular view of Sandton and greater Johannesburg – Alto234 has been serving up drinks and bar tapas and the recently launched Alto234 brunch menu offers a little bit of everything for those looking for a weekend foodie excursion at altitude, featuring an array of petite, sweet and savoury plates from Prawn & Curried Hollandaise Blini, Beef Fillet Tartar Brioche Toast, Bacon, Brie & Asparagus Frittata and a Vanilla Bean Custard Beignet.

The festivities kick off at 5pm on September 3 and promise to be a night to remember. On arrival, guests are welcomed with a glass of Moët & Chandon Impérial and a delicious, handcrafted tapas snack by the team at AURUM Restaurant. As the sun sinks and the city lights take over, the vibe will step up a notch with Nick Explicit (7:30pm) and Chrizz Beatz (9:30pm) on the decks.

There will also be a chance to experience the Moët & Chandon Mini-matic exclusive to Alto234. Guests can experience this audacious yet elegant device by placing little coins into the machine and ordering Moët Minis served at the perfect temperature.
