During a recent trip to Cape Town, The Sandton Times took the opportunity to stay at the Hyatt Regency Cape Town, allowing us to directly explore the hotel’s offerings for both business and leisure travellers.

The Hyatt Regency brand is renowned globally, and the Cape Town property aims to uphold this reputation. Boasting a prime location in the vibrant Bo-Kaap neighbourhood, the hotel provides easy access to key attractions such as Table Mountain, the V&A Waterfront, and the Robben Island Ferry. Best yet, the hotel is in short walking distance of some of our favourite eateries in Cape Town, including SCALA and Iron Steak.

After checking into one of the 137 rooms designed with business and leisure travellers in mind, housekeeping drops off a selection of welcome snacks that’ll ensure all sweet and savoury cravings are satisfied. It’s a nice touch.

The guestrooms at Hyatt Regency Cape Town are designed with comfort and functionality in mind. Each room features large floor-to-ceiling windows or a balcony, offering breath-taking views of the surrounding landscape. With a walk-in rain shower, good workspace, and complimentary high-speed internet access the room is geared for guests to have everything they need for a productive and comfortable stay.

The room also features an open cupboard concept with drawers to store more delicate items, whilst the safe, albeit below the clothing space, is laptop size and large enough to store most valuables. Additionally, the hotel offers access to a fitness center, complete with a gym, steam room, and sauna facilities.

When it comes to dining, Hyatt Regency Cape Town offers an array of culinary delights to tantalize the taste buds. 126 Cape Kitchen & Café takes guests on a culinary journey, blending traditional South African, Cape Malay, and Asian flavours to create a truly delicious dining experience. The breakfast spread is extensive and covers everything from cold to hot breakfast favourites.

Meanwhile, the highly rated Urchin Restaurant showcases sustainable seafood, complemented by a carefully curated wine selection. For guests on the go, The Market provides a convenient grab-and-go option, offering a selection of snacks and light meals, including a dedicated Häagen-Dazs ice cream freezer.

Those seeking a more relaxed atmosphere can unwind at the Signal Hill Terrace next to the pool, where a selection of tapas, pizza and refreshing drinks are on offer. The hotel also proudly serves locally sourced products and is fully Halal certified, ensuring that guests can indulge in culinary delights at ease.
The Hyatt Regency Cape Town presents a good array of amenities, including a prime location, well-appointed, contemporary rooms, and diverse dining choices, contributing to an enjoyable travel experience.
