Mike + The Mechanics are set to bring their highly anticipated ‘Looking Back – Living The Years 2025 Tour’ to South Africa.

  • Following the phenomenal success of their ‘Refuelled! Tour’ in 2023, the legendary band is hitting the road again.
  • The tour starts with two exclusive South African dates before continuing to the UK for a 30-concert series.
  • This tour promises to be a nostalgic journey, featuring all their classic hits and a special tribute to Genesis’s iconic tracks.
  • Visit www.sandtontimes.co.za for more stories.

The tour will commence on 30 January 2025 at the Grand Arena, GrandWest in Cape Town, and then move to the SunBet Arena, Time Square in Pretoria on 1 February 2025. These performances mark a significant return to the stage for the band, known for their electrifying live shows and timeless music.

Concertgoers can expect to hear the band’s unforgettable hits such as ‘Over My Shoulder,’ ‘The Living Years,’ and ‘All I Need Is A Miracle.’ In addition to these classics, Mike + The Mechanics will also perform some of Genesis’s beloved tracks, creating a rich, immersive experience that spans decades of music history.

It’s exciting to announce that we will be touring The Mechanics again. Getting back on the road with the guys last year was a real pleasure. Even though it had been four years, we slotted back into the old ways, the old jokes and the camaraderie like it had been a day! We had so much fun on the last tour and the audiences were so gracious and warm, when we played the final show in Dusseldorf we all agreed then that we wanted to do it all again. We can’t wait to see you.

Formed in 1985 by Mike Rutherford as a side project to Genesis, Mike + The Mechanics quickly rose to commercial success. With Paul Young and Paul Carrack as the original front-men, the band achieved worldwide fame throughout the 80s and 90s, selling over 10-million albums and topping charts globally. After the tragic passing of Paul Young in 2000, the band took a hiatus. However, in 2011, Mike began writing new material and brought in vocalists Andrew Roachford and Tim Howar, revitalizing the band and leading to the release of their album ‘The Road.’

Their dynamic performances and heartfelt music continue to captivate audiences, ensuring that Mike + The Mechanics remain a beloved fixture in the music world.
