With the arrival of the warmer months, Cape Town, South Africa’s most cherished destination, graciously welcomes both local and international travellers. Voted the Greatest City on Earth in the 2023 Telegraph Travel Awards, Cape Town offers everything from fine dining establishments to luxurious accommodation.

Eager to unveil the city’s essential attractions, The Sandton Times undertook an insightful journey, made seamlessly possible by LIFT airlines, renowned for offering up to 10 flights daily to the Mother City. This exceptional frequency, coupled with unparalleled flexibility and onboard service, provided us the golden opportunity to embark on an exploration that promises to unfurl the vibrant tapestry of Cape Town’s allure.

Opened in 2010, this prestigious hotel has earned the moniker of the city’s oldest new hotel due to its exquisite transformation of an iconic building dating back to 1890, and formerly the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) building. There are few hotels which ooze as much charm and history as The Taj Cape Town, boasting some spectacular city views on a sunshine filled day.
