The Johannesburg to Durban route is the first leg of LIFT airlines growth. This is the first phase in a plan to link the well-known “Golden Triangle” of Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Durban for the domestic airline, starting with the LIFT Durban route.

We couldn’t be more excited to add Durban to our list of destinations, it’s one of the most common requests we receive on social media and has been on our radar for a while. We’re also adding four aircraft to our fleet which has been done using flexible capacity and can easily be increased or decreased based on demand. This growth in our fleet and new routes will create more than 100 new jobs before the end of the year.

Now, travelers on the LIFT Durban route may enjoy all the benefits that come with flying LIFT. The fashionable cabin crew provides attentive service, complementary snacks, coffee from Vida e Cafe, and flexible flight changes with unlimited penalty-free changes, no cancellation costs, and quick and simple refunds into a LIFT wallet. Select LIFT flights are also dog-friendly, making it a little easier to travel with pets.

Additionally, LIFT offers ‘LIFT Premium’, a business class product with industry-leading legroom and a few special touches. These include expedited boarding, accelerated security checks, priority assistance, a designated check-in area, and lounge access.

It’s been a challenging two years but looking ahead we expect the market to recover to pre-pandemic levels in late 2023 and for a second year in a row we will be doubling our seat capacity.
