Serving up the good, the bad and the downright inedible over the past 11 years, Come Dine with Me South Africa is back with a brand-new season.

From contending with a ‘spot’ of load shedding leading, boiling potatoes on the braai, a foot’ ‘Show & Tell’ and uniquely entertaining party tricks, this season’s contestants are bringing the heat to show off their skills in the hopes of taking home the cash prize.

Fans can once again look forward to the popular show format, which follows four home cooks as they each host a three-course dinner party for the other contestants at their own homes. Competitors then rate the host’s food and hosting skills at the end of each evening, with the highest-scoring entertainer winning a R10’000 cash prize.

What can you expect from the first three episodes of Come Dine with Me South Africa, Season 8:

Week one kicks off in the North of Johannesburg with four fateful diners – Master yogi Paiger, Bachelor Brendan, Creative Cool-cat Mandisa, and Home exec Qudsiya.

Week two heads to Randburg with another four bold and brilliant personalities – fun-loving zookeeper Melanie, Capetonian Michael Jacobs, but you can call him MJ, cute and quirky librarian and English teacher Rosa, and the oh-so luxurious real estate agent Lebo. It’s a lamb off that may just send MJ running back to the hills of his beloved Kaapstad. Image: BBC Studios

Week three comes to Midrand where four more aspiring home cooks face off – life of the party Success, VIP connected eyebrow expert Tarryn, the multi-layered spice specialist Pamela, and scooter obsessed Given.

Come Dine With Me South Africa airs every Wednesday from October 12 at 8pm on BBC Lifestyle (DStv Channel 174).
