Col’Cacchio Marks 32 Years With New Menu

Col’Cacchio marked 32-years of serving up Italian-inspired food in South Africa, during a media event at their Winifred Mandela Precinct store in Bryanston.

  • Founded in 1992 by Kinga Baranowska and Michael Terespolsky, Col’Cacchio has become synonymous with Italian-inspired cuisine in South Africa.
  • From its humble beginnings, this female-founded brand has blossomed into one of the country’s leading pizzerias.
  • Staying true to its roots, Col’Cacchio has constantly evolved to meet the ever-changing tastes of its customers for over three decades.

Under the visionary leadership of Kinga and Michael, Col’Cacchio pioneered a rich array of vegetarian, vegan, and carb-conscious offerings, long before others embraced dietary inclusivity. Their commitment to innovation extended beyond the main courses, with creations like the carb-conscious cheesecake, which became a fan favorite and left an indelible mark on the dessert menu.

Kinga, the creative force behind the menu and the brand’s innovation, has kept Col’Cacchio relevant and thriving for over three decades, guiding it through challenges like COVID-19 and load-shedding with a dose of resilience and a touch of creativity.

Col’Cacchio has also stood strong on their commitment to sourcing only the best, authentic Italian ingredients. For example, their balsamic vinegar isn’t just any condiment; it’s Aceto Balsamico di Modena, matured to perfection in oak and cherry wood barrels for a minimum of three years. The result is a deep, complex flavour that elevates every dish it drizzles.

Their pasta, too, is a testament to their dedication to quality. Col’Cacchio partners with Granoro, a renowned Italian brand, to bring an elevated taste and texture of pasta made from the finest durum wheat, grown in the fertile fields of Corato, Italy.

Col’Cacchio also prides itself on making every dish from scratch in their kitchens, right down to the sauces and salad dressings. After 32-years, Col’Cacchio is introducing a unique signature menu for each region, designed to reflect and cater to local tastes and eating preferences.
