Two of South Africa’s award-winning chefs, Chef Wandile Mabaso and Chef Johannes Richter, are set to join forces for a unique two-day culinary collaboration in greater Sandton.

Chef Johannes Richter, known for his critically acclaimed restaurant The LivingRoom at Summerhill Guest Estate in Cowies Hill, Durban, will head to Sandton to cook alongside Chef Wandile Mabaso at his esteemed Bryanston restaurant, Les Creatifs.
Guests can anticipate a remarkable culinary experience as Chef Wandile’s celebrated take on African fine-dining merges with Chef Johannes’s hyper-local, sustainability-cantered cooking, promising a meal to remember.
We’re super excited to be hosting Chef Johannes in our kitchen. I think there’s definitely a commonality to our cooking, especially when it comes to creativity, humility, and shared respect for nature and cultural heritage.

The chefs will each serve up three of their own dishes and will also collaborate on a lamb main course, utilizing the animal from nose-to-tail as a testament to their creativity and shared sustainable ethos. The wines for the series will be expertly paired by The LivingRoom sommelier, Johanna Richter, enhancing the dining experience. For Chef Johannes, this marks his first-time cooking in Sandton.

The collaboration will run for lunch and dinner on Friday, the 19 July 2024, and for dinner on Saturday, the 20 July 2024. The dinner will be priced at R2500 per person for the seven-course menu with wine pairing. This exclusive event offers a unique opportunity for food enthusiasts to indulge in a blend of two distinct culinary philosophies, unified by a common appreciation for African ingredients and sustainable practices.
