Genive Trimble grew up as an only child in a supportive environment that fostered her strong work ethic and drive. Encouraged by her parents to excel in school and sports, she learned early on that hard work yields rewards. These foundational lessons instilled perseverance, shaping her into the determined and goal-oriented individual she is today.

As a content creator, model, and DJ, Genive’s career emerged from her passion for creativity and connection. Her love for self-expression and art motivated her to explore various avenues of creativity, eventually leading to the establishment of Suntro Media, her digital marketing company.

ST: Can you tell us a little about yourself and what inspired you to enter the Miss Grand SA pageant?
GT: I’m a 26-year-old content creator, DJ, model, and digital marketing business owner. I entered Miss Grand SA because it aligns with my values of personal growth, mindset development, and inspiring others. The Miss Grand SA & International stage offers a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I’m determined to win the crown for South Africa. Through this platform, I aim to inspire women globally to believe in themselves and be catalysts for meaningful change.

ST: Were there any role models or mentors who significantly influenced your path?
GT: I’m inspired by individuals who exemplify and teach discipline and self-mastery, like Mel Robbins, Paulo Coelho and Joe Dispenza, whose work has deeply influenced my life and mindset.

ST: If you could go back and give your younger self one piece of career advice, what would it be?
GT: I would tell my younger self to trust in the process, stay disciplined, and never doubt the power of self-belief. Every step, even the setbacks, plays an important role in shaping your journey.

ST: What do you enjoy doing in your downtime to relax and recharge?
GT: In my downtime, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, listening to music, and practicing self-care activities like journaling and taking nature walks to recharge my energy. I also have 2 amazing dogs that I love taking on walks.

ST: What does being selected as a finalist for Miss Grand SA mean to you personally?
GT: Being selected as a finalist is a tremendous honour. It validates the journey I’ve been on to embrace my true self, face challenges with resilience, and stay committed to my goals. It means that I have an opportunity to represent a movement of strength, self-mastery, and empowerment, and to encourage others to reach for their best selves.

ST: How did your journey to becoming a finalist unfold? Were there any challenges or memorable moments along the way?
GT: My journey to becoming a finalist in Miss Grand SA has been an unexpected but exciting one. A few years ago, I thought I had hung up my pageant shoes for good, but something inside me called me back, and Miss Grand SA felt like the perfect fit. While the journey is just beginning, the most rewarding part so far has been connecting with like-minded individuals who share my passion for personal growth, self-mastery, and empowerment. I’m excited to see where this path leads!

ST: Who has been your biggest source of support or inspiration throughout this journey?
GT: My biggest source of support has been my family, friends, and community. They’ve always encouraged me to pursue my dreams and stay true to myself.

ST: What qualities do you believe make you stand out as a finalist?
GT: What sets me apart is my authenticity, resilience, and commitment to growth. I embrace my journey, imperfections and all, and that enables me to connect with others on a deeper level. I also bring a strong sense of self- belief, combined with the desire to inspire and empower others.

ST: How do you plan to use this opportunity to make a positive impact on your community?
GT: I plan to use this opportunity to advocate for personal growth, self-mastery, and resilience within my community, as I believe these values create real transformation. Through my platform as a finalist, I can inspire others to embrace their true potential and support positive change, particularly in building confidence and self-belief. Additionally, I want to further collaborate with the Human Empowerment Fund (HEF) in their efforts to make a meaningful impact on communities and empower individuals to achieve their goals.

ST: If you were to win the title, how would you approach representing South Africa on the international stage in Thailand?
GT: If I were to win, I would approach representing South Africa with pride, highlighting our unique culture and diversity while focusing on global issues like self- empowerment, mental health, and personal development. I would aim to use my platform to inspire others to embrace their full potential and promote peaceful change on a global level, just as Miss Grand International envisions.

Genive sees beauty pageants as more than a showcase of glamour; for her, they are platforms for advocacy and empowerment. Representing South Africa at Miss Grand International in Thailand would be a dream come true for her, enabling Genive to highlight the strength and resilience of South African women on a global stage.

Looking ahead, Genive plans to expand her career in digital marketing and music while continuing to create meaningful content. She also envisions mentoring young women, starting a family, and evolving personally and professionally. Regardless of the outcome in competitions, she remains committed to her advocacy and inspiring others through her journey.

Miss Grand South Africa 2025 will be crowned at Theatre of Marcellus, Emperors Palace later this year.
