The Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) together with the Sandton Central Management District (SCMD) have expanded the private sector solution to combating load-shedding – the Traffic Signal Backup Power Initiative.

Residents and visitors to Sandton will be left without power again, as Eskom implements Stage 2 load-shedding from 9pm tonight until 5am on Monday at short notice.
Sandton will have to brace itself for another wave of darkness as Eskom implements Stage 2 load-shedding once more as part of an attempt to ‘replenish emergency generation reserves’.
