It’s not the first place you would look when trying to find the one and only Planet Hollywood Resort outside of the United States, but travelers would miss out on one great holiday if they didn’t visit the beach paradise of Goa or more specifically, the Planet Hollywood Beach Resort Goa.

Located on the Uttorda Beach, South Goa offers an escape for those wanting a more chilled holiday in contrast to the big party, club filled streets of North Goa.

Greeted by a yellow Lamborghini at the entrance, its quick to see that the Planet Hollywood Beach Resort Goa offers guests something uniquely different – a touch of Goa beach hotel, blended with the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, whilst still bringing in some uniquely local flavours. It’s a fine mix of Bollywood meets Hollywood in more ways than one. It’s a prompt check-in and then a tour of the expansive property, which features two restaurants, a gym and spa with plenty of spaces to lie back and take in a little rest and relaxation.

Laid out across 10 acres of prime property, the Planet Hollywood Beach Resort Goaonly the second in the world after Planet Hollywood Las Vegas, is a premium destination with a fabulous selection of rooms, each with their own ‘one of a kind’ Hollywood inspired theme and amenities. From The Hangover to animated superheros and sports stars, there’s a shade of Tinseltown for everyone.

The Sandton Times had the pleasure of staying in The Incredible Hulk themed room with silk bedding and an array of star-studded features including ambient lighting, a mobile leg massager, extensive mini-bar, a large bathroom and a welcome treat with a special touch.

The big bathroom with extra-large shower features all the amenities one could ask for.

It’s a short walk to the beach which is as crip and beautiful as any tropical island and offers sun-lovers a vast clean strip to catch a few rays. For those looking for a little culinary adventure, a visit to one of the many beach shacks is highly recommended. With their well priced and delicious fresh seafood offering, its hard not to come back time and time again for lunch or supper and take in the view with a lobster thermidor, prawns or king crab dish.

The Hollywood-inspired theme resorts’ most amazing feature is the gigantic swimming-pool at the heart of the hotel – a spot best enjoyed over long periods of time. A pool-side afternoon, soaking up the Indian sun whilst ordering from the resorts decadent bar menu or iconic sushi selection, is not to be missed.

For even the laziest swimmer, this huge swimming space with wall to wall mosaic is a great spot to spend hours of summer time. An all-time favourite pool-side snack is the generous portion of tempura prawns with a delicious mayo dip.

Apart from the 115 rooms, the Planet Hollywood Beach Resort Goa also has a free-standing Presidential Suite which is desirable in more than the expected way. It’s the only building uniquely close to the beachfront, which construction regulations would usually not allow, but as the building was an existing structure at the time of the resorts construction, the space has been beautifully revamped into a modern, luxury villa, and it has remained in the exact front-row spot, offering those wanting more space and a gorgeous view of the ocean, that little something extra.

Planet Hollywood Beach Resort Goa, offers a daily western breakfast buffet with a selection of Indian favourites and the friendly staff is always on stand-by to assist with any special requests for those wanting something off the menu, to get the day started in the best way possible.

The resort is the perfect getaway for those seeking a relaxing space infused with a sprinkle of Hollywood magic and a sense of being in Goa. It has all the luxuries one can imagine and is only a stone-throw away from the natural beauty of the region.

Visit to enjoy your next Goa visit amongst the stars.
