Land For Sale In Sandton Central With CEO Of Broll Auctions And Sales Norman Raad

Sandton Times Hour
Cedar Park Properties 39 offers a rare, strategically positioned development site above Sandton Gautrain Station, ideal for a flagship mixed-use project. Image: Broll Auctions And Sales

A landmark development opportunity in the heart of Sandton has come to market, with the liquidation auction of Cedar Park Properties 39 (Pty) Ltd offering one of the most strategically located pieces of land in South Africa.

Positioned directly above the Sandton Gautrain Station and opposite Sandton City and Nelson Mandela Square, the site sits at the centre of Africa’s financial capital, surrounded by leading corporate headquarters including Discovery, EY and RMB. Its prominence, accessibility and unmatched visibility make it one of the most significant urban landholdings to be released in decades.

The site spans approximately 39’112m² and is currently zoned “Special,” allowing for an extensive mix of uses ranging from business, retail and residential to hospitality, transportation facilities and entertainment. With development rights of roughly 195’000m² of bulk and no height restrictions, the land is capable of supporting a landmark skyscraper or an integrated mixed-use precinct. Fully serviced and located within Sandton’s municipal infrastructure grid, the property offers seamless integration with pedestrian routes, vehicular access points and the Gautrain concourse below.

Connectivity is a defining feature of the site, with direct access to the Gautrain Station, proximity to major arterial routes and rapid links to OR Tambo International Airport. Its position within the Sandton CBD’s Gautrain Precinct ensures significant footfall, exceptional exposure and immediate adjacency to Africa’s busiest commercial and retail hub. This level of accessibility elevates the land’s appeal for flagship developments and long-term investment.

Conceptual studies suggest the site could accommodate a premium blend of office, residential, retail and hospitality components, capitalising on its centrality and demand for high-density urban development. The closed auction will take place on 27 November 2025 at the Broll Property Group offices, with bidders required to submit completed registration documents, proof of finance and a refundable fee of R150’000 by 25 November 2025. This sale represents an unrepeatable chance to shape Sandton’s skyline and contribute to the evolution of Johannesburg’s premier business district.

Chief Integration And Growth Officer At Dis-Chem Pharmacies, Craig Swanepoel, believes Dis-Chem’s BetterRewards gives shoppers instant savings at the till on thousands of everyday essentials, turning loyalty into real-time value. Image: Dis-Chem Pharmacies

Dis-Chem unveiled BetterRewards, a redesigned loyalty programme launched in October 2025, offering shoppers instant savings on thousands of everyday essentials at the till. Unlike traditional loyalty programmes that provide delayed or uncertain rewards, BetterRewards looks to deliver immediate financial relief, giving members 10% off more than 140 leading South African brands across over 10’000 products. Discounts even apply to promotional items, allowing customers to benefit from multiple layers of savings while planning and budgeting more effectively. Dis-Chem CEO Rui Morais says the programme is built around genuine value at the moment it matters most – when families are making essential purchasing decisions – and reinforces the retailer’s commitment to improving access to primary healthcare.

In a major partnership, Capitec’s 25-million clients will receive an additional 5% discount simply by paying with a Capitec card, giving them an instant 15% saving on participating brands. More than nine million existing Dis-Chem loyalty members will be automatically migrated to the new programme, while 22’000 Dis-Chem staff have already received early access as Priority Customers. BetterRewards is powered by X, bigly labs, Dis-Chem’s innovation hub, which helped design the programme around data, customer needs and South Africa’s pressing healthcare challenges.

BetterRewards marks the beginning of a more connected, technology-driven health ecosystem – one that rewards healthier habits and supports proactive management of chronic conditions, aligning with global calls for strengthened long-term healthcare systems.

The Latest Documentaries On Showmax With Entertainment Commentator Tat Wolfen

Tiek Tok Boem! A Doccie On Afrikaans TikTok

Showmax released Tiek Tok Boem!, a hard-hitting 90-minute documentary created by Rian van Heerden and Provoco, the team behind Sex in Afrikaans.

The film investigates the rise of Afrikaans TikTokers whose chaotic “Drama Lives” have turned the platform into a digital battleground. Far from dance trends and light-hearted content, these livestreams feature cyberbullying, substance abuse, explicit behaviour, violence, and even on-camera suicide attempts. The documentary profiles some of the most notorious creators – Christiaan met 2 A’s, Queen Amelda, Leigh Pascheka, King Binlaken, and Terrible Tess – who collectively rack up over 100-million views and earn thousands of rands weekly from their broadcasts.

Through interviews with influencers, comedians, psychologists, and media personalities, Tiek Tok Boem! examines the cultural forces behind this uniquely Afrikaans phenomenon and questions the thin line between online fame, exploitation, and looming catastrophe.

The Inventor: Out For Blood In Silicon Valley

HBO’s The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley offers a gripping, inside look at Theranos, the multi-billion-dollar health-tech start-up built on one of Silicon Valley’s most shocking frauds. The documentary unpacks how founder Elizabeth Holmes – once hailed as a visionary – captivated the public, investors, and government officials with promises of a revolutionary blood-testing device that never worked.

Directed by Emmy and Academy Award winner Alex Gibney, the film exposes the company’s deeply flawed technology, manipulated test results, and the culture of secrecy enforced through strict non-disclosure agreements that silenced whistle-blowers. Featuring extensive research and testimony, the documentary reveals how ambition, charisma, and Silicon Valley hype fueled the deception. Produced by Jigsaw Productions for HBO Documentary Films, The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley is now available to stream on Showmax, delivering a sobering look at innovation gone wrong.

‘The Reluctant Narcissist’ With Author Devon Brough

Sandton Times Hour
Devon Brough’s ‘The Reluctant Narcissist’ is a raw, introspective account of his journey from addiction and destructive behaviour to sobriety and success, offering insights on recognising narcissistic patterns, healing emotional wounds, and building authentic, safe relationships. Image: Devon Brough

Devon Brough’s life story unfolds with the intensity of a cinematic drama, shaped by early turmoil, self-destruction and ultimately profound personal transformation. The author of Get Ova It! (2021) and The Reluctant Narcissist (2025), Devon’s journey began with a disastrous business deal at age nineteen that left him in hiding – spiralling into addiction and destructive behaviour.

He watched his relationships and ambitions unravel before rebuilding his life through recovery and a highly successful career in luxury property. Today, alongside his business achievements, he works as an author, speaker and coach dedicated to helping others break free from the addictions, patterns and past experiences holding them back.

His latest book, The Reluctant Narcissist, is a raw, unfiltered exploration of the darker layers beneath personal success and sobriety. Rather than offering a clinical diagnosis, it is an emotional reckoning – an honest account of how unresolved trauma and a hunger for validation can drive subtle forms of narcissistic behaviour. Devon reveals how, even while sober, he remained addicted to approval, control and admiration, often confusing charm for connection and performance for vulnerability. In a world fascinated by narcissism and quick to label others, his story digs deeper, exposing the shame and fear that often lie beneath the surface.

Through personal narrative, psychological insight and practical guidance, Devon invites readers to examine their own patterns with equal honesty. He offers tools to recognise covert narcissistic traits, heal the wounds that fuel emotional manipulation, and cultivate relationships built on genuine safety rather than performance. Ultimately, The Reluctant Narcissist encourages a shift from ego-driven living to a life grounded in peace, authenticity and meaningful growth – transforming pain into purpose.
