Spier Wine Experience

A Taste Of The Cape At The Indaba Hotel Spier Wine Experience

The Spier Wine Experience at the Indaba Hotel has opened its cellar doors to a slice of the Cape Winelands in greater Sandton and it’s an experience, you won’t want to miss.

  • Spier is a family-owned farm with the current owners having acquired the farm in 1993.
  • The wine farm won the Duimpie Bayly Veritas Vertex Award at the 2021 Veritas Wine Awards for Spier Creative Block 5 2018.
  • The Indaba Hotel is no stranger to tasting experiences, having set up a Gin Sensorium back in 2018.

With some of the most awarded wines in South Africa, dating back to 1692 near Stellenbosch, Spier has become world-renowned with wine lovers and now, has set up a first-of-its-kind ‘Tasting Room’ promising an unparalleled wine experience right here in greater Sandton. The Spier Wine Experience at the Indaba Hotel is perfect for both individual and group bookings with something for everyone to enjoy, offering a comprehensive array of acclaimed Spier wines as well as delicious snack boards.

Set amongst the lavish Indaba Hotel gardens and bringing in a taste of Cape Town, the Spier Wine Experience also features a beautiful store, showcasing some of the winemakers most notable wines from 21 GABLES, named in honour of the wine farms’ 21 architecturally significant gables, to Spier’s Cap Classique wines, crafted the traditional French way and fermented in the bottle. The boutique also features some gorgeous homeware and fabulous accessories, transporting visitors to a moment in Stellenbosch whilst remaining on the highveld.

Gauteng is notably the largest consumer of Cape wines in the country, making this debut expansion for Spier a natural move, to both educate wine lovers and grow its footprint in the province. The Spier Wine Experience is certainly going to be a hit with overseas visitors and locals alike, especially during a time where travel remains restrictive.
