100 Flights Are Up For Grabs In Flysafair’s Second School Booster Competition

For the second year in a row, low-cost carrier FlySafair will hold its annual School Booster competition with more flights to be won.

  • This year’s School Booster competition opens on 28 February 2025 and closes on 27 March 2025.
  • Schools will need to submit a motivation with their entry form and have this signed off by their principal.
  • School Booster is one of many initiatives FlySafair has run over the years.

The airline invites schools from around the country to share how flying will help them create more opportunities for success for a chance to be one of 10 schools selected to win 10 return domestic flights.

The School Booster competition is our way of supporting schools that are shaping South Africa’s future stars. We’ve increased the number of winners from three schools to 10, making this year’s competition bigger and better. So whether you want to compete in an annual academic or sporting competition or explore a new city on a school tour, we want to hear about it. We see flying as a great way to connect people to new places and experiences, and we want to share this with the younger generation.

During last year’s competition, FlySafair received 788 entries. The three winners were Benjamin Pine Primary School in KwaZulu-Natal, Potchefstroom Central School in North West, and ESCA Wanderers in Gauteng. The airline visited last year’s winners to hand over a giant boarding pass of flights.

We’re always looking for ways to connect different parts of South African society. Over the years, we’ve been involved in art, music, small businesses and sport. The School Booster competition is a chance for us to not only support the future of our country but the schools that work tirelessly to educate and shape young minds.

Eligible entries will also need to include the total number of learners, whether the school is independent or public, and the principal’s contact details. The school’s representative submitting the entry must be over the age of 18. To enter, visit flysafair.co.za. The ten winning schools will be announced on 17 April 2025, with each winner receiving 10 return domestic return flights.

It’s competitions like the School Booster that allow us to share our love of flying with more people of different ages and backgrounds. Being able to experience the magic of flying is a wonderful thing we hope to share with more South Africans.

The airline’s annual Business Booster competition has given away 180 return business class flights – amounting to two full aircraft – to small businesses, while its partnership with Wings & Wishes has helped many young children and their families from previously disadvantaged backgrounds attend specialist medical appointments in other cities. In addition, the Artist Project has also seen the airline commission local artists to create one-of-a-kind artworks for installation in its aircraft.
